Dewan Secures Two Honours for Digital Innovation at the 2026 Digital Construction Awards in Dubai

Individual and team honours recognize Dewan’s digital delivery expertise

Dewan Architects + Engineers has received two honours at the 2026 Digital Construction Awards, with Deputy Head of Digital Delivery Gareth Ponmoon named BIM Specialist of the Year and the firm’s Digital Delivery team receiving an Honourable Achievement in the Digital Team of the Year category. Hosted in Dubai and powered by Big Project Middle East, the Digital Construction Awards celebrate technological innovation, digital construction excellence and the people, teams and projects advancing digital practices across the regional construction industry.

The 2026 programme featured 21 categories, more than 450 nominations and an independent judging panel drawn from across the industry. Gareth was recognised for his role in advancing Building Information Modeling at Dewan and his focus on combining established BIM standards with emerging artificial intelligence technologies. His work is helping transform complex project information into more accessible and valuable insights, supporting teams in making better-informed decisions throughout design and delivery. The recognition builds on Dewan’s wider investment in digital delivery and the development of tools and processes that integrate BIM, automation and AI into everyday project workflows.

The firm’s Digital Delivery Team was also recognised with an Honourable Achievement in the Digital Team of the Year category, which celebrates teams enabling organisation-wide digital transformation or driving the digital delivery of complex projects. The judges highlighted the team’s practical application of AI to real-world challenges, including its role in improving project coordination and generating measurable efficiency gains across workflows. The honour was accepted at the awards gala by members of Dewan’s Digital Delivery team, including Christopher Stock, Gareth Ponmoon, Sherif Batanoni, Hesham Elshahaly and Samah Mustafa. Both Gareth and Dewan’s Digital Delivery team had been shortlisted in their respective categories ahead of the awards, with winners and Honourable Achievement recipients announced at the gala at The Ritz-Carlton, JBR in Dubai. Together, the two honours recognise the individual expertise and collaborative work behind Dewan’s approach to digital delivery, as the practice continues to explore practical applications of BIM, automation and AI across its projects and operations.
